Summer Bootcamps

(20 hours each, Monday – Thursday)

Fall and Spring Bootcamps

(20 hours each, 4 consecutive Saturdays)

  • Instruction includes specific content, based knowledge and time-saving strategies for all sections of the SAT - Reading, Writing and Language, Math, and Essay.

  • Utilizes the 2020 Edition of College Board’s  The Official College Board Study Guide Incorporates A College Readiness Partnership between College Board and Khan Academy for Official SAT Practice

  • Highly qualified instructor providing 20 hours of challenging and engaging  content-based material covering all sections of the SAT – Reading, Writing and Language, Math and Essay

  • Instructor will serve as Khan Academy coach to monitor student practice and performance goals

  • Value-added guided practice designed to help transfer independent practice to students enabling them to achieve maximum score improvement

According to College Board research, 20 hours spent practicing on Official SAT Practice through Khan Academy leads to an average 115-point score gain.

Practice includes College Board material for students:

  • The College Board’s Official SAT Study Guide (2020 Edition),

  • Written by the test maker and is an authentic resource

  • Updated 2020 Book includes:

  • 8 official SAT practice tests – written in the exact same process and by the same team of authors as the actual exam.

  • Detailed descriptions of the math and evidenced-based reading and writing sections

  • Targeted practice questions for each SAT question type

  • Guidance on the new optional essay – including practice essay questions with sample responses.

  • Seamless integration with Official SAT Practice on Khan Academy


Practice incorporates Khan Academy for students:

  • Free online resource for all students – content was written and/or approved by College Board

  • Used by more than 15 million students globally

  • Links PSAT and SAT scores to receive personalized learning plan tailored to student’s individual strengths and weaknesses

  • Provides expert tips, strategies, and video lessons to hone student skills

  • Sets personalized practice schedule with reminders

  • Includes guided practice specific to student’s areas of focus

  • Provides diagnostic and practice tests online or on paper

Adult Students
College Admissions Application - Essay Writing Workshop


Receive help in writing those all-important college application essays from expert instructors. Our 2-day session will focus on the 2019 ApplyTexas essay prompts - Topics A, B, and C for U.S. and International Freshman applications. This hands-on workshop will take you from planning to perfection.  Impress that college admissions panel with your compelling essays. This workshop is open to all current 11th grade students. A personal computer laptop is highly recommended for this workshop.

About the Instructors:


Ms. Claudia Torres:

Ms. Torres is currently an English I PAP Teacher at George Ranch High School. She has been teaching for 6 years. During that time span, she has taught English I, English II, English III, as well as Speech and Debate. She is certified in English, Speech, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. She recently received her Master of Education in Administration and Supervision. It is her goal to ensure every student succeeds in the classroom and beyond.    


Mr. Fred Siegmund:

Mr. Siegmund has taught English for 14 years at both the high school and university levels. In addition to being a fun guy, he is an excellent writing instructor and has guided hundreds of students through the college admission process. He is certified in English and holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in English. Mr. Siegmund is also a College Board AP certified instructor in English.

Increase Productivity and Comprehension
Our reading workshop will help students improve their reading, comprehension, and retention rates boosting overall productivity.  Whether it be for score improvement on the Reading section of the SAT or to simply increase efficiencies in high school and upcoming college level studies, speed reading is an excellent skill to master. Open to all 9th – 12th grade students.

LearnStrat Group LLC is offering the students of George Ranch High School a tremendous opportunity to participate in educational and site-seeing tours of several Texas college campuses. Open to all 9th through 12th grade students.
